Who Is Your Apostle?

Many Christians today are confused or have never thought about the fact that they have an Apostle that is God’s will for us to follow in the age that we live in today.

Here are the bible verses that you will find out about who your Apostle is.  God’s will IS for all Christians to follow the Apostle assigned to the age we live in. This enables us to get our doctrine from our Apostle to live by, so we understand our place in Christ and know we are in God’s will!

All verses are King James Version (KJV)

  To whom were the 12 apostles sent?
Matt. 10:5-6
5 These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not:
6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

  To whom were the 12 NOT sent?
(Matt. 10:5-6) (Same verse as above)

  To whom were the 12 apostles sent after the resurrection?
Matt. 28:19
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

  How far did the 12 get in their commission? (Acts 8:1 & 11:19)
Acts 8
1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

Acts 11:19
19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

 After the final rejection of Christ by the Jews, to whom was Paul sent?
Acts 22:21
21 And he said unto me, Depart: for I will send thee far hence unto the Gentiles.

    In the following verses, to whom does Paul, guided by the Holy Spirit, say he was sent?

Romans 11:13
13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

 Galatians 2:7-8
7 But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter;

8 (For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles:)

Ephesians 3:1,2,8
1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
2 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;

Colossians 1:25-27
25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;

26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:

27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:

1Timothy 2:7
7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

2Timothy 1:11
11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.

    Who does Paul say we (Gentiles) are to follow?

1Corinthians 4:15-16
15 For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.

16 Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.

  1Corinthians 11:1
1 Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.

1Thessalonians 4:1
1 Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more.

1Timothy 1:16
16 Howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me first Jesus Christ might shew forth all longsuffering, for a pattern to them which should hereafter believe on him to life everlasting.

2 Timothy 1:13
13 Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

2 Timothy 2:2
2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

Clearly the Word of God teaches that the 12 were sent to the 12 tribes of Israel and Paul to the Gentiles.

We follow the Lord Jesus Christ as we follow Paul.

God’s will for us today in this age of grace is to follow Paul our Apostle. Paul wrote the books Romans through Philemon. It is in these new testament books that we find our doctrine and the will of God for our everyday lives in this age of Grace in which we live today.

Biblical Word Meaning:

(Includes all that are alive today, even Jews as they rejected the Kingdom Gospel in that Jesus was to be their King and all nations were to be saved through Israel. The Kingdom Gospel will be resumed and fulfilled during the tribulation)

Samaritans = Were Gentiles

House of Israel = Jewish faith

uncircumcision = Gentiles not required

circumcision = Jews were required by their faith
